PUBLIC SECTOR TRAINING

Learn to produce video and audio content using a smartphone or DSLR

Who is this training for?

Póca Productions have been working with the press office and communication teams from government departments and local authorities since 2017. We empower PR personnel to shoot, edit and share professional video content in a seamless workflow on a singular mobile device or using a combination of smartphone, DSLR and PC. Our public sector clients use video content to enhance public engagement across social media in a timely and cost-effective manner.

As well as communication personnel a wide range of local authorities' services also benefit from smartphone video training. Staff from Library Services, Planning, Community, Housing and Environment have trained with Póca Productions. They produce video content for in-house communication and training as well as public engagement. Each service can share their content directly with the public through their own social media channels and through the channels of their local authority. Communication teams also really benefit from having content produced by the personnel 'on the ground' in the various services.

We offer a free consultation to ensure we recommend the course that best meets your specific requirements. We can tailor one of our pre-designed programmes to your needs or design a bespoke programme which builds on the current skills, equipment and experience of your team.

What's New?

Learn to Podcast using a Smartphone or a PC

As podcasting has become a popular means of communicating with the public we have developed two courses in podcast production; Smartphone Podcast Production and PC Podcast Production. More details below.

DSLR Video Training

We have found that many press offices may have already invested in a DSLR camera for photography. So we now also offer training on how to use a DSLR for video production. We can recommend equipment to you and also design a course around the equipment you already have access to. More details below.

Póca Productions is the training side our business. Our training is very hands-on with an emphasis on practising technical skills based on industry-standard techniques. We have been working with public sector groups in both video production and training for many years and so understand the needs of the sector.

Our Courses for the Public Sector

Mobile Journalism for Press Office and Communications Teams

Your team may already use a DSLR for photography, these cameras are also very good for video production. On this course you learn how to shoot on both a DSLR and a smartphone and edit on both a PC and smartphone. Suitable for those with some experience of using a DSLR for photography.

Testimonial

“We used Póca Productions initially to train up our Communications team to produce video content using their smartphones and then extended to other staff across the organisation. The ability to know how to film, edit and publish video content using a smartphone is a great skill for staff to have. They found the Smartphone Video Training course really informative. It was practical, easy to understand and they were all producing great videos very quickly.”
