Technology Enhanced Learning

The COVID-19 pandemic created an extraordinary set of circumstances where teachers, tutors and instructors had to rely on technology to engage with learners. Many staff members availed of professional development opportunities provided by Donegal Education and Training Board to upskill in the area of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL).

One highly recommended course was the Smartphone Video Training with Póca Productions. After this short interactive course, one of our Youthreach tutors was
inspired to create a collection of cooking and baking videos which have been used extensively to engage students in remote learning. The suite of videos has been used to create a cookery website for students to access on demand. Snippets from the videos have also been used on promote the work of Donegal ETB via social media.
